Proposed Date and Venue: Date: May 16–17, 2025 (Friday–Saturday) Venue: RCE Tongyeong Sejahtera Forest, Gyeongsangnam-do, Republic of Korea Background and Objective: 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of RCE Tongyeong’s designation as the first RCE in Korea and the 8th worldwide, as well as the 10th anniversary of the establishment of RCE Tongyeong Sejahtera Forest. To commemorate these milestones, the 2025 Tongyeong ESD International Forum will be held, bringing together key stakeholders, experts, and partners from the global RCE network to reflect on the achievements of the past two decades and discuss the future of ESD (Education for Sustainable Development). Under the theme “Celebrating 20 Years of RCE Tongyeong & 10 Years of Sejahtera Forest”, the forum will explore the evolution of ESD practices, international cooperation, and the role of RCEs in addressing global sustainability challenges. The discussions will highlight best practices, policy recommendations, and future strategies for advancing ESD in alignment with the UNESCO ESD for 2030 framework.
